Review of Australia VS India ODI Series

For Australia

Australia lost first bilateral series against India in Australia by a margin of 2-1. Shaun Marsh was the leading run scorer of the ODI Series with 234 runs where he scored 1 century and 1 half century. Peter Handscomb provided valuable contributions as he scored 151 runs where he scored 2 half centuries. The positive for Australia in the batting department was the form of Shaun Marsh as he is now scoring runs on a consistent basis in the middle order and when Steven Smith and David Warner would be back after their bans Australia have a fabulous top 4 batting line up in the form of David Warner, Aaron Finch, Steven Smith and Shaun Marsh.

In the bowling department of Australia Jhye Richardson the novice fast bowler was the only major positive for Australian team as he took 6 wickets; but none of the other bowlers supported him. Australian team’s selection committee’s decision to rest all their three fast main quick bowlers: Patrick Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood backfired as Australia lacked a lethal bowling attack. Australia has got them to blame as they dropped catches in the deciding 3rd ODI match of the series due to which they lost their fortress.

For India

India registered first bilateral ODI Series victory against Australia by winning with a margin of 2-1. In this ODI Series India found the 2.0 Version of MS  Dhoni as he amassed 193 runs which included 3 half centuries and he was in sublime form and he made sure that he stayed till the end of the 50th over and win the game for his team. Rohit Sharma the Vice Captain of Team India scored 185 runs which included 1 Century. The skipper of Team India who is often termed as the master of Run Chases scored 153 runs with 1 Century. India still hasn’t found their no.4 batsman as Ambati Rayudu failed but the way MS Dhoni batted it seems that India would try MS Dhoni at No.4 position.

In the bowling department of India Yuzwendra Chahal the leg spinner took a 6 wicket haul in the deciding 3rd match of the ODI Series and he made a statement that he may not be a great turner of the ball but he has impeccable line and length bowling technique. India also found their 3rd seamer in this ODI Series in the form of Mohammed Shami as he took 5 wickets. India have found the all boxes ticking up in the bowling department with the rise of Mohammed Shami  and it can be said that the Indian team is right on track with the World Cup being at the door steps away.
