# U.S. Horse Racing
In USA (United States of America) Horse Race betting is legal in 38 of the 50 states. But the online horse racing betting is legal in each and every state of USA. Some states allow betting only at certain tracks and some will prohibit betting a track in the bettor’s home track. Horse Racing is a game with more skill and it’s pretty clearly defined as gambling. The only major concerning factor in the horse racing betting is that some players and organizations corrupt the game for the sake of money by deliberately loosing a particular race; this is popularly known to be as match fixing or spot fixing. This match fixing helps a particular owner of a horse as he earns more than twice and sometimes thrice the money. It is often said that in a competition that the winner who wins the competition wins trophy and the opponent who deliberately looses the finale earns tremendously as he does gambling.
# Cricket
Cricket originated in England but the betting in cricket got started in South Africa legally. The term legally means that in South Africa the betters pay the tax and then do betting. In a sport like Cricket which is full of uncertainty betting has played a huge role from the last 2-3 decades. In cricket in the name of betting there are a lot of instances where the game got corrupt i.e. there were spot fixing and match fixing done by the players. Spot fixing means to deliberately bowl a no ball and concede 10 to 15 runs in a particular over is called as spot fixing in cricket and Match fixing means to decide the outcome of the match even before it is played. The examples of spot fixing done in ICC (International Cricket Council) Cricket Matches are as follows:
- In 2010 Pakistan’s former captain Salman Butt took the money and he told the fast bowlers Mohammed Asif and Mohammed Aamir to deliberately bowl the no balls and this incident of spot fixing was caught red handed by ICC’s Anti-Corruption Bureau and it was telecasted on Sky Sports of England and after all the incident was shown on Television Salman Butt, Mohammed Aamir and Mohammed Asif all the three players were sent to jail for a span of 5 years for breaching the code of conduct and corrupting the game and this punishment seemed to be befitting for the trio and a lesson for the future cricketers to never ever do spot fixing
- In 2013 India’s former fast bowler Sreesanth was involved in a spot fixing incident where he was caught by the Delhi Police for doing spot fixing in the 6th edition of the IPL and along with him there were two more cricketers involved which were Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila. All these 3 cricketers were banned for life by BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and even today they are not allowed to play as the bans are not lifted. Recently Sreesanth had appealed in High Court and he got his case won and he said that he wants to play again for India and he pleaded innocent but BCCI is ignoring the case of Sreesanth whereas the other 2 cricketers are out of action
In a country like India where betting is illegal an individual should never ever do betting as he gets an imprisonment of up to 3 months and a fine of Rs 200.
